Jamel Toppin is a Brooklyn-based portrait and commercial photographer known for creating bold, timeless imagery that feels both cinematic and deeply human. Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Jamel studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and has spent more than two decades building a distinguished career photographing some of the world’s most influential figures.

His subjects have included major celebrities, business leaders, heads of companies, cultural icons, and presidents, with work spanning editorial, commercial, advertising, and lifestyle campaigns. Over the years, he has become especially recognized for his ability to create powerful portraits that feel polished yet authentic — bringing out the confidence, character, and humanity of the people in front of his lens.

For the last 12 years, Jamel has worked extensively with Forbes, photographing many of today’s most recognizable leaders, innovators, and public figures.
